*Do not follow Google maps from inside Termini station as Google sometimes does not recognize that you can walk through the station so it can take people on a much longer route to reach us.

From Fiumicino Airport (FCO) by train
My preferred way from FCO to Rome’s central train station, Termini (which is very close to us) is the airport train called the Leonardo Express. It's a direct regional train from FCO. How to tell the difference between the Leonardo Express train and the other trains when purchasing your ticket is that the Leonardo Express is €14 one way with no stops. There are other trains departing from there that are cheaper but take longer and have changes and some of them don't arrive to Termini so make sure you get the correct ticket and get on the correct train. Here is some more info:

After exiting baggage claim/customs, follow the signs to the trains. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the train platform once you exit baggage claim/customs. You can purchase tickets near the train platform from multi-language self-service kiosks. There are some self-service ticket kiosks just as you exit baggage claim, but there are usually very long queues so it’s best if you just make your way to the airport train station and purchase your ticket from the kiosks there. If you plan on doing other train travel while in Italy, you might consider downloading the Trenitalia app www.trenitalia.com and purchasing your ticket there. The train station of departure is Fiumicino Aeroporto and the arrival is Roma Termini.

Keep in mind that with regional trains (including the airport train) you may have to "check-in" on the app before you board (this may have changed and it will tell you on your ticket on the app). The easiest method for the train from FCO is if you have a contactless credit card either on the actual card or on your phone and just “tap & go” at the platform gate. No ticket is issued for this, but you will need to know the last 4 digits of the card you are using, as the conductor will ask for it.

The airport train departs every :23 and :53 minutes past the hour (always subject to change and additional hours such as :08 and :38 past the hour may be added). If you bought a physical ticket, you must validate it in the green & grey date/stamp machines to go through the gates; otherwise, you risk getting fined. It is the same if you don't "check-in" if you bought your ticket on the app. Not the best way to start your time in Rome!

The journey is non-stop and takes about 30 minutes to Termini station - there are no other stops between the airport and the final destination of Termini station.

From Termini station, we are located a direct, quick & easy 5 minute walk from the Via Marsala exit (the closest track to this exit is track 1) from the main gallery of the station where many shops are located. The Via Marsala exit is on the other side of the station from where the airport train drops off. One of the larger shops near our exit is Uniqlo and the coffee bar closest to our exit is called Vyta.

We're located at Via Marghera 8 on the corner of Via Marghera & Via dei Mille. There's a yellow wall, trees, jasmine - that's us behind the wall. You must press on the round white button with the bell symbol for whoever is working at reception to let you in at the silver door where our sign is. If you use Instagram, you can also go to our Highlights, which shows you step-by-step how to reach us from the station. @thebeehiverome

From Ciampino Airport (CIA) by airport shuttle bus:

Just so you know, there are no trains from Ciampino airport to Termini train station. Many people mistake the town of Ciampino with the airport which are not near each other. There is something called Airlink - it’s a bus that takes you from the airport to Ciampino town train station which you then take into Termini station. It’s an extra step and more time-consuming.

Also, keep in mind there is no Uber here as you may be familiar with - only Uber Taxi which connects with official city taxis and Uber Black which are licensed private car service drivers and they can be quite expensive. The flat rate by official city taxis is €40 BUT many of the taxi drivers who pick up at CIA do their best to cheat you despite the set rate. I would avoid taking a taxi from there if at all possible to avoid scams and the hassle it is dealing with them as it can get ugly.

The least expensive & most direct way to get into the city center from Ciampino is by airport shuttle bus. Sitbusshuttle is the best option from the various bus services as it drops off the nearest to us about a 5 minute walk from their drop off near Termini station to us. However, there are other buses as well if the departure time for Sitbusshuttle doesn't work for you but they drop off on the other side of the station from us. The journey takes around 30-40 minutes (depends on traffic) and the cost is €6. The buses can be found as soon as you exit the airport in front to your left.

From Termini station, we are located a direct, quick & easy 5 minute walk from the Via Marsala exit from the main gallery of the station where many shops are located. One of the larger shops near our exit is Uniqlo and the coffee bar closest to our exit is called Vyta.

If you use Sitbusshuttle which drops off near our side of Termini station it won’t be necessary for you to walk through the station to reach us. Instead from the Sitbusshuttle drop off (which is on Via Marsala), walk over to the corner of Via Marsala and Via Marghera and take a left onto Via Marghera. The train station at that point will be behind you.

By City Taxi or Private Car Service:
1. Taxi service from Fiumicino (FCO) and Ciampino (CIA) airports to Rome's center is set at a flat rate of €55 from Fiumicino and €40 from Ciampino. However, there is some dispute as to whether our address is inside or outside the area covered by this fixed price, and taxi drivers are notorious for finding ways to overcharge people, especially from Ciampino airport. If you have them drop you off at Termini train station, which is close to us, you will most definitely be charged the flat rate.

2. City taxis are white and have the number of their taxi cooperative on the side and a sign on the outside front doors that says "Roma Capitale" and the fixed airport rates listed above. Our preferred taxi coop is 3570. However, city taxis all queue up at the taxi rank and take passengers in order. An official taxi driver will not approach you in a queue or after you exit baggage claim to ask if you want a taxi.

3. The Uber app in Rome only works to request city taxis or Uber Black which are private car service hires called NCC. They are more expensive than regular Uber which is prohibited in Rome. Other taxi apps are Free Now and itTaxi.

4. If you would like a private airport pick-up, we do work with a car service and price depends on the number of people and time of arrival. The car service we use has rates starting at €60-70 flat rate for 1-3 people + €5 supplement for very late or very early arrivals. For more information or to reserve, please send us an e-mail. If you would like the car service for your departure, please reserve at reception at least a week to 2 weeks in advance as it is difficult to book last minute service especially in high season months.

Arriving from other cities into Termini Train Station:
1. If you arrive in Rome from another city and not from FCO airport, walk into the main gallery where all the shops are and take the exit to the right - via Marsala exit which is closest to track 1 and cross the street.

2. Note that many of the regional trains, especially from Florence, often arrive at track 1 Est or 2 Est. These tracks are at the back of track 1 and far from the main gallery, about a 10 minute walk. If you arrive at Tracks 1 Est or 2 Est and are heading towards the main part of the station, ignore the first sign you see that directs you to Via Marsala and instead go all the way to the main gallery where the retail shops and coffee bars are located and then turn right.

3. With Termini now behind you, that street is via Marghera - our street. We are located a straight shot from that exit, just 2 blocks away on the corner of via dei Mille and via Marghera at via Marghera, 8 on the left side of the street. Please note that the numbers on our side of the street do not correspond with the numbers on the other side of the street.
4. There's a yellow wall, trees - that's us behind the wall. At the silver door where our sign is, press the round white button with the bell symbol so whoever is working at reception can let you in. If you use Instagram, you can also go to our Highlights which shows you step by step how to reach us from the station. @thebeehiverome
